The Musicmen Cometh!
This is the marriage of two musical minds, Josh Bain and Nolan Ross. Friends since high school, they've seen the seven wonders of the world, jumped from helicopters, hang-glided, climbed Mt. Everest, and even offered jokes over dinner with Bono, Springsteen, Clapton, and others.
Okay, none of that is true except the friends since high school part. Nonetheless, these guys love music and love talking about it. We hope you enjoy it.
The Avett Brothers
It’s safe to say that I’m obsessed with these guys. For one, they’re from my home state, North Carolina. Secondly, you can’t pin these guys down. One minute, they’re screaming their lungs out and the next they are harmonizing like two church choir boys. (Listen to “Colorshow” and then “Murder In the City” for corroboration).
They have a new record that is slated for September 29th and will feature the glorious song, “I and Love and You,” which is available for download, in EP form, here.
The new album will feature the legendary Rick Rubin, as producer. You remember that guy? He turned those late Johnny Cash records into gold. And of course, he produced the Beastie Boys’ records, some AC/DC stuff, Rage Against the Machine, and Jay-Z to name a few. Guy’s just all over the place musically, but always in the right place when he’s producing a record. I can’t wait.
